One-on-One Lessons

Structured Conversation Practice Lessons 

Do you have problems understanding conversations in English? Would you like to be able to have more complex conversations about various topics? Do you struggle with speaking English smoothly? Would you like to learn more useful vocabulary to help you to speak more like a native speaker? If so, you should take the Structures Conversation Practice Lessons. 

These lessons are for elementary, intermediate, and advanced level students(A2-C2). These lessons are structured, which means that we will follow a particular structure each lesson. 

In each lesson, we will discuss a specific topic that I select. The topics are interesting and relevant, so you will certainly have fun talking with me about them in each class. Even if you are already familiar with certain topics, you will still be able to gain new knowledge. 

I will ask you questions related to the topic to help guide our conversation, so you don’t have to worry about not having anything to say. Depending on your specific needs, you will also have the chance to develop your listening or reading skills. 

In each lesson, you will learn some useful vocabulary (idioms, phrasal verbs, etc.) that will help you to express yourself better when you speak in English. During our conversation, you will have the opportunity to use the new vocabulary that you learn.

Homework and quizzes/tests can be provided.

Unstructured Conversation Practice Lessons 

Have you been studying English for a long time, but struggle to have a conversation in English? Do you not feel confident when you speak English? Do you not have many opportunities to actually use the English that you know and practice it with a native English speaker? If so, then you should book the Conversation Practice Lessons. 

These lessons are for upper elementary, intermediate, and advanced (A2-C2) level students, and they are not structured. 

Before each lesson, we will send a video and/or article to each other about a particular topic. During the lesson, we will have a conversation about each topic for half of the class. If you make any grammatical errors or pronunciation errors, I will let you know at the end of the lesson. 

You will be able to learn some new and useful vocabulary from the videos/articles, which will allow you to speak more effectively. If there are some words or phrases that will allow you to speak more naturally, I will inform you.

You will take the lead in the conversations. These lessons are the same as a regular conversation that you would have with a friend, family member, coworker, etc. You will need to express your thoughts, feelings, opinions, ideas, suggestions, etc. Ask questions, ask for clarification, etc.

Homework and quizzes are not provided.

Discussion & Debate Lessons

The purpose of Lesson Type B -The Topical Discussion Lesson- is to really improve your speaking skills and fluency. We will have a discussion about a particular topic from a video or article. You will learn many new and useful words and phrases as a result of having this particular lesson. (Your listening skills will also be able to improve because of the video that you will have to watch.). 

I will send you a document that has some instructions that you need to follow. There will be key words/phrases from the video that I will write in the document, so you can become aware of them and then you can create some sentences to know how to use them. 

There will also be some discussion questions to prepare you for when we actually talk about the topic. At the end of the lesson, we will have a debate, some type of roleplay scenario, etc. They will be useful for you because you’ll be able to use some of the words that you learn in both lessons and you’ll be able to remember them more easily.

You can tell me what your specific needs are and what you are trying to achieve and I will design the lessons to help you meet them.  We can use a book that you already have or I can use my books and resources to develop a plan with lessons to fit your individual needs.
